Imperfections

Imperfections
A china doll sitting on the shelf
Her perfect face made of glass
Her ballroom gown decked in lace
Hair arranged with not a strand out of place
A permanent smile fixed on her face
Eyes bright blue and shining
I wonder what that china doll would say
If she just came to life one day
That china doll would leave her shelf
Her perfect face of glass cracked
Her ballroom gown torn and ripped
Her hair unraveling as she tripped
Yet a permanent smile still fixed on her face
Eyes still bright blue and shining
While she is no longer perfect and pleasing to the eye
She walks with confidence and holds her head high
For she would rather be free with imperfections
Than be chained with her life perfected
