Mozart

  • Wrote more than 600 musical works

  • Young, he showed incredible talent in music

  • Music like Haydn

Bach

Concerto for Two Violins

  • Came from a very musical family

  • 3 of his siblings became pretty famous composers

  • In 1714 the Duke made Bach a concertmaster

  • The Duke put Bach in a prison once because he didn't want him to leave (he left anyway)

  • Wrote the collection of fugues called The Art of Fugue

  • Bach's burial building was destroyed in a Word War || Allied bombing

  • They took his remains to St. Thomas Church

  • Near the end of his life he sold his compositions and taught piano

  • Was called, the poet of the piano

  • Wrote a piece to Polish lyrics

  • Once he broke all of his strings except the G string, and played a piece only on the g string

  • Known as the "One Hit Wonder" even though he has hundreds of concertos

  • Although many are not known Antonio Vivaldi produced over 400 concertos

  • Wrote music mainly for the violin

  • Famous for Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, The 1812 Overture, etc.

  • Also wrote operas, ballets, orchestra music, chamber music

  • One of the most famous German composers

Brahms

  • 7 May 1833 - 3 April 1897

  • German composer

  • Started his career as a composer

  • Wrote 4 symphonies

  • Most famous piece was Brahms Lullaby, the song you went to sleep to as a child

Wagner

Ride of the Valkyries

  • 22 May 1813 in Leipzig - 13 February 1883 in Venice

  • German opera composer

  • Most important German opera composer in the romantic period

  • Wrote operas about German mythology

  • Had a huge influence on opera composers that time

Clara Schumann

The Piano Concerto

  • 13 September, 1819; died 20 May, 1896

  • Father taught her piano

  • She was a piano prodigy

  • Studied not only piano but violin vocal chords and music composition

  • Clara Schumann is a very amazing composer, but so few people know about her it's terrible. She was admired by some of the most famous composers and best composers like, Goethe, Mendelsohn, Chopin and Paganini
