A nerd explains everything about the new Kirby Game

Kirby the Forgotten Land is a 3D RPQ platformer coming to the Switch on the 25th of this month. The game has Kirby, a pink ball with legs and arms, exploring an abandoned wasteland overrun with all sorts of enemies. It introduces new mechanics to the franchise.

Mechanics

Mouthful mode

Mouthful mode is a mechanic that allows Kirby to swallow various objects bigger than him. One of which is a car:

This also includes a vending machine, a traffic cone, a ring, scissor lift, light bulb, arch, and water balloon. All of these modes will have different uses and mechanics.

Upgrading Copy Abilities

This new mechanic is pretty straight forward. By rescuing Waddle Dees, you can make a village. This village includes an upgrade shop, where you can turn normal abilities into super moves. One example is the boomerang, which can have you throw 4 super rangs at a time, if you upgrade it enough.

The town

Every time you complete a major stage, you unlock either 1 or 3 Waddle Dees. The Waddles Dees will then just go into the town and will give you more progress towards the town. All the features teased in the demo include fishing, baking, and upgrading weapons as said before.

There is also multiplayer, where the second person is Bandana Waddle Dee.

All the plot I know in hopefully 5 sentences

Kirby wakes up on the beach of an abandoned world, when he then sees Waddle Dees being captured. He then starts a prison break and breaks the Waddle Dees out. Then he goes out to save all of them. And King DeDeDe is behind it because that's the plot of almost every Kirby game.
